Introducing Génépi Divide.
PD is on tour, with our friends at Altra. We’re taking our journeying format to The Alps and shuffling from the Swiss city of Martigny, up and over, across the border into the Chamonix Valley - the trail heart of French Haute-Savoie.

Based at White Frontier Brewery, we’ve got a Shakedown Shuffle treat for you: heading into the hills with the local run club for a tasting of sorts, and back for food and drinks. If keen, please be shuffle-ready at the Brewery for 17:00 … or feel free to join us at the Brewery later in the evening post-run if arriving later, ofc.
» SATURDAY 13 JUNE 2026
The journey begins. Please make sure to be at the meet location in central Martigny by 09:00. Register, drink a coffee, load overnight bags into the transfer vehicle and we'll aim to be on the trails ~10:00.
The Overnight is based at a Mountain Refuge, and bedding is provided.
[Lunch, Dinner provided]
» SUNDAY 14 JUNE 2026
We'll head from our overnight refuge, up and over Col de Balme, and along ridge-top trails before descending straight into the centre of Chamonix mid-late afternoon, for finish drinks and food. The invite is there to stay late, but expect to be able to depart from 17:00, if required.
[Breakfast, Lunch provided] -

» All shufflers are required to sign a waiver in advance of the event.
» All shufflers are required to show us valid travel insurance in advance of the event start, to cover up to 2400m+ in The Alps. A reminder that it’s not a race / competitive event.
0 / EVENT
The Genepi Divide is a two-day, hosted, trail-run from Martigny to Chamonix - the event is not a race; it is not timed. The route is ~50km (~20km/~30km, respectively) with ~2500m+ elevation in total, and uses a mix of public footpaths, access-land trails, and public highway pavements. The organiser will supply a GPX file, local guide runners, and hosted feed stops (checkpoints), but the route is not fully waymarked; participants will be required to navigate themselves and be self-supported throughout.
1/ BOOKING
There is one option for entering the event: Standard Entry - £195.00 + Booking Fee. Participants must enter and register via our tour operator - Slowpack LLP’s - webpage, and agree to these booking conditions.
2/ ROUTE
Trail-running and overnighting in the mountains are inherently risky. The Genepi Divide route and overnight locations have been fully recced, risk-assessed, and deemed suitable by the organisers. Participants enter the Genepi Divide at their own risk. Prior to the event, communication between organiser and participant should be via email; during the event, communication should be via Whatsapp. Participants must stick to the organiser’s Genepi Divide GPX route. Participants must obey all local highway rules, and not stray from designated footpaths and trails. Participants agree that they are physically and mentally able to cover the Genepi Divide route, within the organiser’s pacing requirements. The organiser reserves the right to edit the Genepi Divide route at any time. During the event, if a participant chooses to leave the Genepi Divide route they understand that all consequences of this action are borne by them, and they must inform the organiser. This includes participants that leave the event entirely. In a non-emergency situation, participants should contact the organiser. In an emergency situation, participants should ring the emergency services. Participants are responsible for any fees or costs that result from any searches, or accidents.
3/ SIGN-ON, WAIVER, STAMPS & BRIEFING
Participants are expected to read the pre-event information emails, to sign-on (including signing a waiver), to get their stamp at the three key points, and to attend the mandatory start briefing in Martigny.
4/ RUNNING EQUIPMENT
The organisers have prepared a Mandatory and Suggested kit list for running the Genepi Divide. Participants agree to carry all mandatory items, and seriously consider the suggested items.
5/ OVERNIGHT EQUIPMENT
The organisers have prepared a Mandatory and Suggested kit list for the Genepi Divide overnight. You agree to bring all mandatory items, and seriously consider the suggested items. These don’t all need to be carried on the run; we will transfer a bag for you to the finish each day.
6/ ALLERGIES, DIETARY REQUIREMENTS, MEDICAL CONDITIONS
Participants must disclose any allergies, dietary requirements (/preferences) and/or medical conditions when requested. Participants with medical conditions that knowingly require certain treatments must carry them for the duration of the event. We can hold items at checkpoints if you’d like/need - please let the organiser know.
7 / BEHAVIOUR & SAFEGUARDING
Participants, at all times, should conduct themselves in a manner that does not discredit themselves or the organisers. Participants must be considerate and respectful to other trail users, and the countryside that the Genepi Divide navigates. Participants must not drop or leave any litter anywhere, at any time. We will happily accept any litter, within reason, at checkpoints. If we see any behaviour beyond our tolerance threshold or that goes against our safeguarding policy, we will be forced to ask you to leave the event.
8/ ACCOMMODATION
The event’s overnight stay is at an official refuge/hotel, with beds in shared dormitories - alpine style. There are showers and toilets. Participants agree to adhere to any rules of the establishment.
9 / MEDIA
The organisers will document Genepi Divide. Each participant hereby grants the organiser (and their partners) the perpetual right to use and publish all Genepi Divide content in any and all media. Participants release the organiser of all liability from such use, and waive any right to any compensation for appearing in any of the words/photographs/film/video recorded at Genepi Divide.
10. POSSESSIONS
The organiser cannot be held responsible or liable for any personal possessions during the course of the event - including items on participants, with the organiser, or at the overnight camp. This includes any vehicles.
11. DEFERRALS, CANCELLATION/REFUNDS.
If you cancel: Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds, transfers or deferrals for the BETA edition of Genepi Divide.
If we cancel: We reserve the right to reschedule or cancel the event at any time, in the unlikely event that weather conditions are deemed dangerous, or due to any other reason that makes the event unviable. In this situation, if prior to the event, we will transfer participant’s entries to a rescheduled date, or offer credit to the organiser’s future events. The organiser cannot be responsible for any associated travel costs.
12. INSURANCES
The event and organisers have relevant insurances, but it is the responsibility of participants to ensure they have personal travel insurance for any issues around event cancellation, or that might arise outside of the organiser’s responsibilities or remit - participants not being able to attend the event last-minute, or non-local citizens needing evacuation and/or medical care, for example. We will need to see and keep a copy of your valid travel insurance before signing-on to Genepi Divide.
13. LAW & JURISDICTION
